Our Valued Patrons

CIPS Ottawa has many corporate Patrons, whose ongoing annual support of our Section provides a significant proportion of our budget. Their contribution makes possible the provision of higher-quality services at a significantly lower cost to our members.

Our patrons range in size from international Fortune 500 firms to small local companies, and government organizations. But all of them, through their patronage, have indicated their support for CIPS and the benefits which it brings to the local IM / IT community.

Ongoing Annual Support

CIPS Ottawa is committed to providing exceptional opportunities for local companies wishing to increase their visibility, prominence and accessibility to key professionals in the IT industry. Through our investment in grass root programs (i.e. Scholarships, Student Program, I.S.P.) our corporate partners will have the opportunity to align themselves with the most recognized association in IT that continues to be the leader in the promotion of ethics and professionalism in the marketplace.

Founded in 1958, CIPS is the most recognized association in representing the interests of Information Technology Professionals in Canada. We are a non-profit organization that represents more than 6000 IT professionals over 25 sections across the country.

CIPS Ottawa provides leadership in information systems and technologies by developing and promoting quality standards and practices, research, certification, and professional development while safeguarding the public interest.

As in all not-for-profit organizations, the real work of the local CIPS Ottawa Section is accomplished by a group of dedicated volunteers who rely on the ongoing annual support from our valued Patrons. Their generous participation in our Section makes possible the provision of higher-quality services at a significantly lower cost to our members.

Currently, CIPS Ottawa is undertaking many important projects related to advocacy, certification & accreditation, the Canadian body of knowledge, code of ethics, and standards of practice. Many of these projects, however, will require substantial funds and volunteers.

CIPS Ottawa ensures mutually beneficial relationships with our Patrons by using the following three commitments as our foundation:
