ARMA (American Records Management Association) is a not-for-profit association serving more than 10,000 information management professionals in the United States, Canada, and over 30 other nations. ARMA International members include records and information managers, MIS and ADP professionals, imaging specialists, archivists, hospital administrators, legal administrators, librarians, and educators.

ASQ (American Society for Quality) Ottawa Valley Section is a society of individual and organizational members dedicated to the ongoing, development, advancement, and promotion of quality concepts, principles, and techniques.

ASQ Ottawa Software Focus Group is specifically focused on software quality field and practitioner development.

CAMC (Canadian Association of Management Consultants) awards the CMC (Certified Management Consultant) designation. CAMC is now organizing local chapters and sponsoring some very relevant professional development sessions.   

CATA (CATA Alliance) is the Canadian association of high-tech firms ("new economy enterprises"). It sees itself as "the Traditional Champion of Canadian research and development."

DPI (The Association of Pubic Sector Information Professionals) is the "sibling" organization of CIPS Ottawa, and members of both organizations are admitted to the other’s events at member rates. We also do joint events. DPI members are IM / IT professionals working for the public sector.

FMI (Financial Management Institute) is a professional association for those interested in public sector financial management. A not-for-profit organization, established in 1962, the Institute has 11 chapters across Canada. Today it has a membership of over 2,000 professionals coast to coast. Members come from federal, provincial, municipal levels of government, the academic world and private sector firms providing service to governments.

ISSA-Ottawa Chapter (Information Systems Security Association) has been established to provide a forum for local information security practitioners, managers, and anyone with an interest in information security. The local environment consists of a strong federal government presence, high technology product developers, consultants, and academic institutions. The ISSA - Ottawa Chapter strives to organize activities to promote optimum information exchange among individuals who have an interest in information security.

OCRI (Ottawa-Carleton Research Institute) puts on some of the highest-profile, best-attended high-tech events in Ottawa.

OOUG (Ottawa ORACLE Users Group) exists to provide an opportunity for Information Services professionals in the Ottawa area to share experience in using Oracle, to provide a forum for Oracle corporation to present new products and new releases to the local user community, and to provide an opportunity for third party software providers to demonstrate their products.

PMI (The Project Management Institute) offers specialized training and certification in project management. The chapter also holds regular monthly educational events.

Formerly known as the Society of Canadian Office Automation Professionals, Ottawa-based SCOAP has broadened its perspective to now include not only management strategies, practices and use of information and supporting technologies, but also the impact of information and technology on the social, political and economic, aspects of our society.

The Greater Ottawa Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary, member-driven organization with over 700 members. As a matter of policy, we accept no government funding. Accountable only to our members through our Board of Directors, we are “your voice of business”. We also serve our members by providing countless opportunities to network, generate new business contacts, gain professional development and enjoy money-saving group programs.

The Sprott Information Systems Association is designed to offer students the opportunity to be involved in networking, fundraising, and mentoring events regarding Information Systems and Technology.

The Management Information Systems Association (MISA) at the University of Ottawa is a non-profit organization representing both French and English students in the Management Information Systems (MIS) program. For the past ten years, MISA has provided outstanding academic programs, career planning services, scholastic aid, and innovative social activities for our members.
