Introduction

The Canadian Information Processing Society of Nova Scotia (CIPS NS) was registered with the Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stock Companies on December 29, 1994, making Nova Scotia the first province in Canada to have an incorporated society admitting certified members with the designation of Information Systems Professional of Canada (I.S.P.).

Information Technology practitioners may apply for the I.S.P. designation after having achieved a standard level of education and experience in the Information Technology discipline. These standards and a Code of Conduct were created and are maintained by the National Canadian Information Processing Society.
